Muhu is an once-closed island at the far-western edge of the former Soviet Union and close to Sweden. This 200-square-kilometer Baltic island of over 2,000 inhabitants has preserved its culture and landscape unspoilt during the Soviet isolation from 1940's to the end of 1980's. The uniqueness of the landscape is best known for traditional wooden architecture, thatch-roofed cottages, juniper forests, meadows, fishing villages and fields of wood anemones.

Männiku farm offers comfortable accommodation in a romantic cottage in the middle of quietness and beautiful nature, an hour and a half drive from Tallinn and a half-hour ferry journey from the mainland. We're open all the year round.

The cottage was completed in 2001 and it has all modern facilities. You can spend some cosy nights by a fireplace in the first floor or unwind in a wooden-heated sauna towards evening. In the open air you can barbeque in a special cot made for this purpose.

There's also great circumstances to go in for sports on Muhu. There's a beach volleyball field in the courtyard, and the football field as well as an another volleyball field are a stone's throw (50 m) from here. And if you're into indoor sports, the near-by town, Liiva, has a sports hall. Horseback riding is available at the neighbouring horse farm (500 m), Tihuse. But if you enjoy more watching the sports, we suggest you arrive here in 24th of June when we host a national volleyball tournament "Männiku talu Jaaniturniir" named after the traditional Estonian midsummer festival.

And if you wish, you may also help doing the daily duties of the farm -- perhaps some haymaking in the summer.
